Southern Machine and Tool Compnay (SMATCO) was formed in 1948 as an oilfield equipment repair shop located along side Bayou LaCarpe in Houma, Louisiana. The development of the offshore drilling industry in Louisiana engendered the manufacture of SMATCO's first winch in 1967.
Since that time, SMATCO has developed a standard line of winches with models that range in size from 10,000 pounds line pull to 1,320,000 pounds line pull. Over the years, SMATCO has expanded its winch product line to include windlasses, capstans, tuggers, fairleads and deck sheaves. Specialty |
